This chutney is very simple to make and goes really well with idli & dosa.
And all we need is a few simple ingredients
2 – 3 Tomatoes quatered
1 onion quatered
3 – 4 Red chillies
1 Tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
- Heat oil in a pan and lightly fry the onion and red chillies.
- Now add the tomatoes and fry for a little while (until the skin looks a little wilted).
- Now let it cool down a bit and then grind this along with salt.
Fairly simple isn’t it?! tastes good too..
If you like to add a little crunch to the chutney then finely chop the onions and fry separately and add it to the tomato and chilli mix at the end.
You can also temper it with mustard seeds and curry leaves (tastes good without it as well).
