There are N number of ways of making biryani and all are similar but not same this is one of the variations, as I like experimenting with food this was one of my creations and am not sure weather others have eaten already at home or restaurants but for me it was a lovely experiment N I’m sharing with you all.

Ingredients:

chicken- 2lb
rice -2lb
turmeric-1/2tsp
chilli powder -1tbsp
garam masala-(cardamom-2, star anise-1, bayleaf-2, cloves-4 , cinnamon – around  2 inch in size)
cumin-1tbsp
onion large-4 nos. finely diced
tomatos- 4 nos. cut
ginger-garlic paste – 2-3 tbsp
bunch of mint
oil-200ml
lemon-2nos(very important)

Method:

Heat oil in a vessel, add cumin and whole garam masala. Add onions and fry till they start turning golden brown at this point add ginger garlic paste and fry for a while

Then add chicken and fry for a minute or two and add the spices along with tomatoes and cook till it leaves oil.

Cook rice in a separate container and drain the water when half cook.

At this point add juice of 1 lemon and the lemon zest into the masala and mix well before adding rice

Then add rice and cover it tightly with foil and cook on a low heat for about 20 mts.

Allow it to rest before serving.

P.S. I’ve used chicken u can replace it with mutton or vegetables. Lemon is a must for this biryani as this ingredient makes it diferent from others.
