Ingredients 

  • 2 boneless chicken
  • 3 cups broken wheat
  • 3-4 green chilly
  • 1/2 tsp peppercorn
  • 4tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1\2 cup chana dal
  • 1\2 cup urad dal
  • 3 tsp chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup curds
  • 1 cup golden onion
  • 1/2 cup cashew
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1 cup fresh coriander
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup oil
Method
  • Wash and soak cracked wheat for 1/2 hour minimum.
  • Trim excess fat of the chicken
  • In a pressure cooker take chicken, 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp salt,1 red chilly powder ,1/2 tsp turmeric and cook high flame for 8-10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked and simmer for another 15-20 minutes
  • After it cools down shred the chicken and keep aside
  • Boil the broken wheat along with the dals 1 tsp ginger garlic paste 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 3-4 green chilly 1/2 tsp pepper in 8-10 cups of water until it is cooked completely and the water is almost absorbed
  • Allow it to cool and then blend the wheat and dal mixture for few seconds. Add water in the mixture to remove any lumps
  • Heat oil in vessel and add shredded chicken remaining green chilly 1/2, 1 cup fresh coriander leaves and saute for 1-2minutes
  • Add curd and saute for 10-15 minutes or until it the oil seperates
  • Add 3 cups of water and bring it to boil
  • Add wheat and dal blended mixture and mix well, adding a little ghee and Salt to taste
  • Let it cook for an hour on low heat by stirring every 5minutes so that it does not burn at the bottom.
  • Serve hot with caramelized onion, coriander, mint leaves and lemon
