There are very few ways i like ladiesfinger n this is one among them. On a visit to bangalore my sister had told me about it and i tried it and from then on this is the only way i make my ladiesfinger side dish. I liked to call it caramalized ladiesfinger. nothing to do with sugar obviously!!

  • 500grams ladyfinger
  • 1 big sized onion
  • 1tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2tsp black pepper powder
  • 1\4tsp turmeric
  • 1tsp chilli powder
  • 1\2tsp dhaniya powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2tbs cooking oil
  • Heat oil in a sausepan\kadai, add onion and fry them till they are nice and translucent
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and stir and leave it for 30sec approx
  • Finely chop the ladies finger and add them into the pan
  • Add black pepper powder, tumeric, chilli powder, dhaniya powder and mix well
  • cook it for about 15minutes.When the ladiesfinger look crisp, shrunken and caramelized its done
  • Serve hot
