Bangalore is known for its pleasant weather. Its typical Bangalore weather now, wind and rain.. Today I’m making Onion and Chilli pakodas. Its a popular Indian snack and simple to make. Perfect as evening snack especially during rainy seasons


Onion Pakoda

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup besan(gram flour)
  • 1 big onion
  • 2 green chillies
  • few leaves of corriander
  • few leaves of curry leaves
  • 1tsp chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • pinch of cooking soda

Direction:

  • Make a thick batter of 1cup besan, 1tsp chilli powder, Salt to taste and a pinch of cooking soda
  • Peel and chop onion roughly
  • chop 2green chilles, corriander and curry leaves finely
  • Mix everything together in the besan mixture
  • Sprinkling the mixture in hot oil and deep fry untill golden brown
  • Serve hot

Chilli Pakoda

Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan(gram flour)
  • 3 Big chillies
  • 1tsp chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • pinch of cooking soda

Direction:

  • Make a thick batter of 1cup besan, 1tsp chilli powder, Salt to taste and a pinch of cooking soda
  • Slit the chillies and remove the seeds if you dont want them to be very spicy
  • Dip the chillies in the batter and deep fry in hot oil untill golden brown
  • Serve hot
