I just love chicken and non-veg in general.  Today I’m making Chicken tamatar da (thats what i named it or rather my friend 😛  ) a Chicken side dish which can be had with any kind of Indian bread (roti, chapatti, nan etc) or may be even rice.


Ingredients

  •  4tbs oil
  • 1 big onion, sliced
  • 11\2tbs ginger garlic paste
  • 500gms Chicken
  • Puree of 3tomatoes
  • 3-4tsp chilli powder
  • 1\2tsp turmeric
  • 1tsp dhaniya powder
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1tbs tamarind extract
  • Salt to taste

 

Direction:

  • Take 4tbs of oil in a saucepan/pressure cooker, add sliced onion and sauté till they are translucent
  • Add 11\2tbs ginger garlic paste and stir for a minute, then add chicken and mix well.
  • Add all the dry masalas, 3 to 4tsp chilli powder (I like my chicken a little spicy). 1\2tsp turmeric, 1tsp dhaniya powder and salt to taste
  • Add the tomato puree, 1tbs tamarind extract and 2sliced green chillies and let it cook till the chicken is nice and tender
  • Serve hot with any Indian bread\rice
